STEADY AS SHE GOES.
Nobody knows who is going to win the US presidential election. Nobody knows what is going to happen in the Middle East in the next several weeks. In fact, no of us knows if this is going to be the best or worst day of our lives.
EVER HOPEFUL.
I was noticing that in my own life (and expressed by many of my friends and colleagues) that hope has been a bit hard to find recently. What is happening in the world at large has been downright tough, troubling, and exhausting.
WEEK OF SUCK.
It’s a super frustrating week where there just seems to be something in the water (or perhaps Mercury is in the microwave again).
THE HLO PROBLEM
Many of my clients at The Wren Way are seeking opportunities to expand their careers, love lives, and creative endeavors but just can’t seem to thread that needle.
I’M STUCK!
What can we control? Here are 6 meaningful actions I share with my clients at The Wren Way that you can start today to practice both.
I FEED YOU. YOU FEED ME.
At The Wren Way, when feedback makes my clients feel icky, I teach them the Big Three Pillars of feedback discernment.
SHOELESS. WONDER.
Do you remove your shoes when asked?…I’m not going to link the article circling the web about this because it’s clearly outrage clickbait (eye roll) but it did have me thinking of a very particular phrase: “failure of curiosity.”
ENOUGH ALREADY?
Have you ever noticed how our beliefs and fears around money can be deeply intertwined with our inner critic? Or, as I teach my clients at The Wren Way to name it, "our Inner Champion."
STRIPPING.
I did a whole load of laundry the other day and it had me thinking about people. Just like how we can remove layers of dirt from fabric, sometimes we need to strip away our emotional armor to reveal our authentic selves.
COFFEE SHOP TALK.
The other day, I was supposed to meet up with a complete stranger at a cafe I had never visited to discuss a potential event collaboration for The Wren Way.
SERIOUS ALL THE TIME.
When we have to respond quickly to a changing landscape, solve big problems, support teams, and stay (mostly) sane in a really tough year, it's very easy to drop into hyper-responsive anxiety and fear.
